I have returned...

Well after many months of absence I have returned. Hopefully this time I will be better at posting and keeping on top of things with this blog.

Much has happened over the past 11 months since I last posted on here. It is once again the holidays. Only this time instead of hubby being gone it is I that is not at home. I spent Thanksgiving working night shift in a hospital in Kansas while the kids spent it at home with daddy in NC. You see this was the year where I made up my mind to do a few things I have always wanted but it never was a good time for. One of which was travel nursing. So for the past 6 weeks I have been on my own working as a travel nurse on a mother baby floor in Kansas Hospital. With only two weeks left til I return home I have to say it has been one of the most wonderful decisions I have made. I have learned so much and my confidence in my nursing abilities has increased ten fold!

So as not to bore you to much I will end this blog here but promise I will catch you up on all that has happened over the past year while I have been away. Good night to all and to all a good night!

Time to think...

Well while much has happened over the last couple months with hubby gone it has all gone by so fast that I've never taken much time to stop and think. So here is my time to stop and start thinking.

Last night was a rough night at work and it made everything come into focus a little better for me. Work usually is an exciting, frustrating, rewarding 8 1/2 hours! I like my job most days and am glad I became a nurse most of the time. And while some nights are crazy, hectic, busy and people can get on my nerves I've come to realize I wouldn't change my job for anything. The rewards of helping others is what I've come to love.

Last night I found out that one of my co-workers had past away. While I've only worked at this hospital for 5 months it was still hard news to come into work to. To make matters even worse last night was crazy busy. One of those nights nothing goes right, you are behind no matter what you do and you feel like you've neglected your patients. While everyone was doing their best you could tell the news of our co-worker was weighting on every ones minds.

So when I came home last night I sat up thinking for a while before I went to sleep. Life isn't about going to work daily to make enough money to pay the bills or it shouldn't be....so why do we do what we do? Like I said I like my job. It is rewarding in many ways and I am very lucky in that. But I could do better at my job....have more patience with people, help others out more often and so on. I could also do more in my life....spend more time with my kids, laugh more and enjoy who I am and where I am right now. You never know when it is all going to be over. So am I doing everything I can to have a full life? Or am I sitting on the sofa watching tv and letting those special moments pass me by? Well starting today I am going to start having more fun with my life and enjoy every moment I can and try my hardest to be better every day.

So this is me ranting a little and I'm done. But really couldn't we all try to have a little more patience and laugh more! What would it really hurt? LOL. Hope everyone has a wonderful day and I am off to go play with my three little blessings!

The Holidays have past...

Well I've survived the holidays and needless to say it was an exciting, fun and interesting time! Its been a while since I've posted...due to the craziness around here so here goes the updates:

Thanksgiving was spent with our good friends across the street...the whole two hours of it :) But it was nice to sit down with friends when we weren't serving the kids.

Christmas was great! The kids had a good time and I think all of the presents were opened in like 5 minutes. I couldn't keep up. The good news is I was able to record the kids and daddy will be able to watch the video....that is when i get a chance to send it out. Big sis M finally got her mermaid barbie she has been wanting. Lil sis got all sorts stuff of her favorite person: TINKERBELL. And baby C (not so much a baby anymore) opened up a couple of things but loved his big present: Kota the dino. All of the kids have been enjoying Kota after they warmed up to him and figured out he wouldn't bite. Lol.

New Years: well this is the first one in a long time I've actually stayed up for. Of course the little ones went to bed early but big sis M did get to stay up! We spent the evening down the street with neighbors and had a great time. At midnight the kids drank sparkling cider and put off all sorts of noise makers and of course silly string. The look on big sis M's face was one of confusion at first but she finally figured out what was going on :)

The last two weeks I've had off of work and while its been a nice and productive break I am excited to go back to work! I did get the house cleaned out and spent some quality time with the kids which was long overdue. It really was a good couple of weeks and it has given me lots to think about!

Well if your not completely bored yet here is the fast update on the kids.... Big sis M lost a second tooth. Of which the tooth fairy still hasn't made a house call (due to the holidays of course...she was on vacation Lol) Lil sis has started her terrible two's which is nice since she will be three in a couple of months :) She has been telling me NO! and I don't want to! lately. And baby C....well what hasn't changed. He's running around like crazy, learned how to kick a soccer ball, is starting to talk and is now a professional charmer. He knows how to play the game and does it really well Lol. When you tell him no he bats his eyes, smiles at you, blows you a kiss and comes over and gives you a hug. Then when you are smiling at him again he goes back to doing what you just told him no for. Its all so hard to resist!

Well I think that is it for this household. Back to normal now that the holidays are over and hopefully I will keep you updated more.

Birthday Season!

Well its that time of year again. Time for all of the birthday's! As you seen baby C had his birthday in Sept and turned one! Yeah. That birthday party went off without a hitch....if you consider it not going off at all not to much of a hitch. LOL. Yes I am behind in my celebrations but 2008 has been the year for quiet home birthday parties. For those of you that don't know me I am the type that usually loves to throw some big party for my little ones, but this year I haven't been able to get in my usual grove LOL. Both big sis M and I had our b-days this past week and lets just say if the birthday cake wasn't on the counter you wouldn't have known it was anyones birthday around here. With hubby being gone seems if my birthday spirit has gone with him. So what does that mean....I guess when he gets home we will be having more than one celebration!

On with the kiddie news flyby of the week. Baby C has finally started walking! Its only a few steps here and there...unless he is chasing after our neighbor for some boy time. LoL poor kid is surounded by girls 24/7 since daddy left. But he is sooooo cute toddling around.

Lil sis L is getting cutier by the day. She now has figured out the art of deceiving...well kind of. The other day she accidently hit Enana with her play pirate sword. Then turned around and said "sorry" (brief pause) "it not me". So my little girl has learned how to pass the blame on to someone else. The only problem.....yes she apoligizes first and then delcares it wasn't her that did whatever she is saying sorry for.

Big sis M got a guitar for her birthday and is loving it. She walks around strumming the guitar and singing. What was I thinking when I got her a guitar for her birthday LOL. But atleast she is using it and seems pretty good at it. Guess its time to look into lessons!

Well that is it from the home front. Everyone is doing good here except for the missing daddy. But he calls often and that helps. But home won't be the same until he is back in it with us all together.

Hope everyone has a wonderful day!
